Sari Nordman (FI/US)

Sari Nordman, a New York -based artist, develops an interdisciplinary installation Torni-TowerThe installation reflects on climate change and the biblical story of the Tower of Babel - a story of greed and the value of cultural differences. Combining sculpture, video, archiving and community participation, the work highlights interviews of people of diverse backgrounds sharing their personal experiences with climate change. For the video Nordman has recorded people from all around the world sharing their personal experiences with climate change. Come share your experience. First you discuss in Finnish or English and then record in your native language. The interviews are recorded in the interviewee's native language to emphasize the global impact and responsibility in fighting climate change. They are transcribed in English and available on a website. The interview lasts about 30 minutes. You will be asked to sign an audio/video release.
