2025
RaumArs A-i-R will be moving to a new space from the beginning of 2025. Rauma city is renovating on old wooden house, which dates to 1925, for the residency artists and exhibitions. The Art House is located next to the city library and in the immediate vicinity of the theatre and the new school, cultural and sports centre. The property has a large garden that artists can use.
There will be two bedrooms (one for a couple or a working couple and the other for one artist) with private bathrooms, a small work space (not for painting) and a shared kitchen. The rest of the house will have an office and three rooms for exhibitions, workshops or meetings.
As the house is undergoing major renovation (including water, electricity and heating), we unfortunately do not have any photos yet. Over the years we have held exhibitions in the building, so you can see old photos from exhibitions held in the building in 2015 at www.sepantalo.fi > kuvia. The white-walled rooms (numbers 1 and 2) will house the bedrooms of the residence. Please note that the floor plan is indicative and the new residence rooms will be separate and have their own bathrooms. Bedrooms and a small studio (No 3) and kitchen will be used by the artists in residence, while rooms No 4 to 6 will be used for exhibitions and multi-purpose spaces.
Residency priceswill remain the same as in 2024. Exhibition rent will be about 500—750 €/month depending on the space: 400—600€ for the two rooms on the north side (which are only rented together) and 100—150€ for the room on the south side, which can also be used as a study (floor plan No. 6 on the website of Seppä's house) The room on the south side will not be rented as the only exhibition space without the other two rooms.
The www.raumars.org website will be updated for the house of art and information with the prices for 2025 will be refined later in 2024.
