Art House RaumArs is located next to the Rauma City Library and in the immediate vicinity of the theatre and the Kari campus. The building also has a large garden that artists can use. Art House RaumArs includes a residence and a gallery, totalling around 200 square metres.

The residence, on the east side of the house, has three rooms and a kitchen: two bedrooms with private bathrooms, a small study and a shared kitchen. The northern bedroom is with single bed for one artist and the southern bedroom with twin beds for two. Families are also welcome and have the whole apartment at their disposal. 

On the west side are three rooms open to the public for exhibitions, workshops or meetings, and an office in the middle. Artists-in-residence have access to the entire house, but exhibiting artists do not have access to the apartment side.

The house is well-equipped and has a wifi network. The apartment has all the necessary kitchen utensils, a drying washing machine, sheets, towels, hairdryers, paper and some materials. On the exhibition side there is a printer with scanner, a tripod, video projectors, electric piano, tools, etc. There are four bicycles for the artists' use. 

Unfortunately the whole house and the apartment are non-accessible.

Artists are responsible for keeping the apartment tidy while they live there and for cleaning it before they leave. A deposit of 120€ can be given to the cleaner. 

Pihlgen & Ritola Oy, a Finnish paper wallpaper manufacturer, has donated wallpaper to the Art House. In hallways Pölkkkypolkuin bedroom 1 Tam-tam, in bedroom 2 Bownet ja gallerian puolella keittiö/toimistossa Lukko.

Studio

The residence has a small studio where you can also do small-scale drawings and paintings with acrylic paints. Artists can request work space for a separate fee at the gallery in the Sirkka room or elsewhere in the Rauma area.

Prices

Fee for the one bedroom

• 300 €/month 
• Non-artist partner or child + 50 €/month
• community artists are entitled to one bedroom free of charge.

Fee for the entire apartment

• 600 €/month 
• a group of 3–4 people can also apply with a community art project, in which case the apartment is free of charge.

• Guests 15 €/night

Kindly note that RaumArs A-i-R supports all artists by covering the actual costs of the apartment, which is more than one month's rent for the entire house. The confirmation fee of €150/room is paid immediately after acceptance into the residency. The first month's rent must be paid before arriving at the residence. A deposit of €120 for the room is charged three months before arrival and is returned at the end of the residency, when the required forms have been filled out and the apartment has been cleaned.
