RaumArs residence artists writer and visual artist Suvi Nurmi (FIN) and multidisciplinary artist & director Roscha A. Säidow (GER) held as invited two workshops for children and young people as a part of Lace Week program.
Wings of Words – writing workshop A creative and playful writing workshop for all literate children, regardless of age. Stop motion! – animation workshop Animation workshop for children of all ages, but small children accompanied by an adult. The workshop uses a smartphone as a tool, and after learning the technique, it is easy to continue making animations at home as well.

When moving legs and grasshoppers meet in a poem
At the end of the Lace Week the artists presented a new artwork which was created through two art workshops for children.
The communal poem about summer, created with the Schmidtis Kinderlieder method in the writing workshop, worked as the starting point for the stop motion animation workshop, where participants were invited to create illustration for the poem using stop motion technique. The artists then combined the text and the animation clips into a film, which premiered in Sepän talo.
The workshops were organised in cooperation with Rauma Cultural Services.
