Come along to Dance n’Paint session where we move to music and paint colours and shapes onto paper. No previous experience in painting, or dance is necessary, willingness to try new things and an open heart is enough 🙂

Within her residency, artist Rauha Hartt is conducting Dance n’Paint workshop where we paint with poster paint onto paper, inspired by our own dance-like movements. The session is free, but you are welcome to contribute to the material costs’ as you wish. Please wear clothes which are ok to get messy with paint. Workshop is open for everyone from 7-years upwards. Capacity for the session is 15 people.

Päälle vaattet, jotka voivat huoletta sotkeentua maaliroiskeisiin. Työpaja on avoin kaiken ikäisille kouluiästä ylöspäin ja mukaan mahtuu 15 henkeä.

In addition to Lappi workshop Rauha Hartt arranged four Dance n'paint sessions with Pyynpää shool pupils, Rauma Street Mission and teacher training students.

Community artist Rauha Hartt graduated with MFA from Goldsmiths College, UCL, in London at 2009. She makes art with different methods and mediums; from teamwork in short films to children’s art workshops to photo shoots to community flower shop and her own paper collages.

Within the last couple of years Hartt has devised a method of working which she calls Dance n’Paint, which, as the name suggests, combines dancing and painting. As a starting point there’s music, which helps to open up bodily movements, which leads to pictorial expression on paper. She uses this method in her own practice as well as conducts workshops for groups and individuals.
