Noora Juppi, 2026

July. In collaboration with Regional Dance Centre of Western Finland, in July we will have the opportunity to enjoy pole dance performances by dance artist Noora Juppi. On Visual Arts Day, Friday 10 July at 11 am, a short excerpt from Noora Juppi’s work ”Radicalis” will be on display at the opening event in Orelli Park and again at 12.30 pm in the garden Art House .

During Lace Week, ”Radicalis 1.0. – The greenhouse Effect” will be seen in its entirety at the Tarvontori sand field on Wednesday 22 July at 6 pm and Thursday 23 July at 6 pm.
The performance lasts 20 minutes.
NOTE: Weather permitting. In the event of rain, strong wind, or excessively hot or cold weather, the performance will be moved to the Tarvonsaari New Art Space (Lyseokatu 2, 2nd floor corridor)

The outdoor installation Radicalis 1.0 is built around a free-standing pole dance pole and a greenhouse-like tent. Inside the tent, the performer transforms into plant-like and earth-like states, challenging the logic of gravity.

The work is inspired by pole dance artist Noora Juppi, who is spending July in residence at the Regional Dance Centre of Western Finland in Art House RaumArs. During her residency, Juppi will be working on her ”Radicalis” project, which combines pole dancing, contemporary dance, and Japanese butoh dance in a site-specific environment. The artist can be spotted on various days throughout the city during July, and passersby can watch the work take shape as part of the daily landscape and the rhythm of the city!

The residency period is carried out in collaboration with the City of Rauma.
