Previously known as Sepän talo (House of the Blacksmith), Taidetalo RaumArs will receive its first residency guests in the spring-winter of 2025, and exhibition activities will open after this. Taidetalo contains both RaumArs ry's residence apartment (3 rooms+kitchen) and exhibition spaces (3 rooms+office). The call for next year's residencies will continue to be in spring and the open call for exhibitions in fall.

EXHIBITION SPACES

Taidetalo is still under renovation, the overall look of the exhibition space will be light, white walls and ceiling and light grey flooring. When the renovation is completed, pictures of the premises will be updated on the raumars.org pages. Works can be nailed to the interior walls of the Hall and the Corner Room, while the exterior walls have hanging rails and the possibility to nail at normal height. Sirkka’s room has only hanging rails. With the exception of Sirkka's room, it is also possible to attach the works to the ceiling.

Hall 36 m², AV possibility. Three windows, an old white tiled stove on the inner wall.
Corner Room 19,5 m². AV possibility, fully dimmable. Two windows.
Sirkka room 20 m². One window.

SPACE RENT

Entire space 750€/month (incl. hanging days). Hall + Corner Room total 600€, Sirkka's room 150€.
Exhibition rent includes: exhibition supervision, cleaning of the exhibition space, printing and distribution of posters, distribution of electronic opening invitations and other information (FB, website, press releases) as well as hanging materials and assistance by arrangement.

Any sale of the work will be organised by the artist. RaumArs ry does not take a commission on sold works. The exhibition space will be kept open 5 h/day and 4 days/week. More detailed opening hours and days of the week will be confirmed by the end of 2024.

• please indicate in your application if you are willing to use only part of the space for your exhibition, in which case Sirkka's room could simultaneously hold, for example, a small-scale exhibition of the artist-in-residence or the room could be reserved for working. In this case, the rent for the Hall and the Corner Room would amount to 600€/month.

Decisions on the 2025 exhibitions will be taken in October-November. Selections will be announced by email.
