The activities of RaumArs ry focus on promoting artistic cultural life, creativity, diversity and internationalism. Art is a powerful and humane means of sustaining humanity and developing the world in a way so that it can overcome cultural and national boundaries. At the same time, we feel that art is an essential part of people's lives and a value in itself.

Our international residency offers artists the opportunity to exchange ideas and carry out projects across cultures. Visiting artists collaborate with a wide range of organisations to organise exhibitions, lectures, performances, artist presentations or events.

Our exhibition space and public projects bring art to everyone with a low barrier to entry. This gives people a concrete opportunity to discuss the issues art raises about our society or just to enjoy art.

Our association aims to create an inclusive and supportive environment where art lovers can share their passion for art and learn from each other. In addition to artists, we want to involve businesses and other communities in our activities. 

The purpose of the association is set out in our rules as follows:

"To increase the attractiveness and appeal of Satakunta by promoting the cultural life of the region and raising the level of artistic activities to a level of national and international interest. To promote international interaction between arts and cultures and to create opportunities for cooperation between cultural institutions, educational institutions, organisations and individual artists in the region."
